West Indies (1975 & 1979) and India (1983 & 2011) have won the cup twice while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been the champions once in 1992 and 1996 respectively.  Next world cup will be held in 2015, to be hosted jointly by New Zealand and Australia. This will be the eleventh world cup organized by the International Cricket Council. There will be an even split of the locations in which the games are to be played.
